We offer expert, compassionate care for high-risk pregnancies in Sacramento, focusing on attention to detail and the patient experience. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Sonographer to join our growing practice. In this role, you will perform high-resolution diagnostic obstetric ultrasound examinations, focusing on high-risk pregnancies, fetal anomalies, and complex gynecological cases. Hands-on fetal echocardiography experience required; formal certification strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities Specialized Exams:
Perform comprehensive Level II (targeted/detailed) fetal anatomical surveys, nuchal translucency (NT) and first-trimester anatomy screenings, and fetal dopplers and fetal echocardiography and biophysical profiles (BPP).
Clinical Assistance:
Assist in ultrasound-guided procedures (e.g., amniocentesis, amnioreductions) as required.
Reporting:
Document technical findings and provide detailed preliminary reports to the physician.
Quality Standards:
Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure compliance with AIUM and ACR standards.
Patient Care:
Provide a supportive and empathetic environment for patients, particularly during high-risk consultations.
Professionalism:
Exhibit a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise to ensure patients are comfortable and feel safe.
Physical Demands & Work Environment Sustained Scanning Positions:
Ability to maintain steady, firm pressure with the scanning arm and wrist for extended periods while capturing high-resolution fetal images.
Ergonomic Positioning:
Frequent reaching, twisting, and bending to optimize image quality and ensure patient comfort.
Mobility & Strength:
Ability to stand or sit for long durations and the strength to assist in positioning or transferring patients (up to 50 lbs) if necessary.
Visual Acuity:
Excellent near-vision and the ability to distinguish subtle color and grayscale variations on high-definition ultrasound monitors.
Manual Dexterity:
Fine motor skills required to manipulate transducer probes and operate complex control panels simultaneously.
Stamina:
Capacity to manage a high-volume patient schedule while maintaining high clinical accuracy and focus. Requirements & Qualifications Certification: ARDMS registered in OB/GYN is required. Past certification for NTQR or FMF for Nuchal Translucency is highly preferred.
Fetal echocardiography:
demonstrable hands-on experience required; formal certification strongly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an MFM office / Prenatal diagnostic center. This experience is required , not preferred.
Technical Skills:
Mastery of 3D/4D imaging and experience with high-end ultrasound platforms (e.g., GE Voluson series).
Education:
Graduate of an accredited CAAHEP ultrasound program. High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an exciting, clinical startup environment.
Pay:
$55.00 - $65.00 per hour
