Job Summary:
Echo Tech Lead Responsible for patient care services utilizing Echo equipment to provide echocardiography exams in compliance with regulatory requirements for directed image acquisition. Echo Tech Lead will also serve as the liaison between management, staff and physicians for routine matters as the primary point of contact for resolving questions and issues as well as; assist with the administrative support of the department. Acts as a resource for other Echo Techs and regularly performs Quality/case reviews to assess for adherence to established quality standards.
Licensure and Certification:
ARDMS or CCI accreditation in Echocardiography 1. Echocardiography required (ARDMS; RDCS or CCI;RCS) Current BLS provider card
Education:
High School graduate or equivalent. Completion of approved Echocardiography training program, continuing education required for maintaining accreditation
Experience:
Three (3) years hospital Echo experience required One year of supervisory/lead experience preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
Patient care in a hospital setting. The ability to follow the various protocols necessary for performing echocardiograms. Ability to perform ultrasound exams in echocardiography lab to the standards outlined for hospital accreditation with IAC. Echo to include adult, pediatric, neonatal, TTE, TEE, Stress echo and 3D experience desired. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing Ability to work flexible schedules and take call as needed Strong organizational skills Problem solving skills Basic computer skills Physical Demands -
Patient Care:
Continuous standing/walking and occasional/intermittent sitting. Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and shoulder level to handle/operate medical equipment/devices. Frequent reaching above shoulder level and overhead. Frequent forward bending, twisting, squatting and kneeling; occasional climbing. Occasional repositioning and transferring patients weighing up to 200 pounds between bed, chair, and gurney. Occasional lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional/intermittent pushing of gurneys, wheelchairs, bed and other medical equipment over tiled and carpeted surfaces. Continuous use of near vision to read medical equipment such as monitoring devices and reading documents and computer screens; hearing and verbal communication to interact with patients, co-workers, and other customers. Key for Physical Demands Continuous 66 to 100% of the time Frequent 33 to 65% of the time Occasional 0 to 32% of the time
