Principal Responsibilities:
Demonstrates clinical proficiency and technical skills as Sonographer Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician request. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment for diagnosis Demonstrate capability to provide high quality imaging Maintains knowledge about sophisticated imaging features to support enhanced capturing of data Appropriately acquire echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician Ability to review a physician order to verify appropriateness for order being performed Acts as a role model in providing care; assists in Precepting Cardio Sonographers I. Retrieves studies from PACS for review Performs appropriate infection control processes Provides an environment of care that supports patient safety Addresses patient informative needs as pertains to requested studies Prepares patients for the study Supports IAC Standards and Guidelines Assures accuracy data for clinical reports, demographics and billing information for physician reports
Qualifications Education:
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) is required.
Work Experience:
2 years of experience performing echocardiographic studies required
Licenses and Certifications:
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) is required.
