1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Sonographer (Echo Tech) with 2+ years of experience performing adult cardiac studies in an acute care setting. Details Echocardiography unit in an acute care hospital Performs all cardiac echo studies for an adult patient population Department is equipped with 7 echo machines, including Philips iE33 and Epic equipment Average of 8-10 scans per day on 10-hour shifts Charting and PACS systems include Cerner and MERGE 10-hour day shifts, every other weekend as required First to float; travels throughout all areas of the hospital to perform echo studies No holiday coverage required On-call with a 30-minute response time required only for candidates with pediatric echo experience Requirements Minimum of 2 years of echocardiography experience required Active BLS certification required; pending certifications not accepted RDCS (via ARDMS) or RCS (via CCI) certification required; pending certifications not accepted Active state or compact (NLC) license required if applicable; pending licenses not accepted Proficiency with adult cardiac echo studies Driver's license required for consideration 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire Additional Information Performs all cardiac echo studies throughout all areas of the hospital, including on 7 echo machines All MyJourney onboarding modules must be completed prior to arrival — no exceptions; failure to complete will result in a delayed start 12-hour orientation included Teal scrubs or hospital-provided surgical blues required Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside firms will be considered Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (AZ, NV, NE, IA, MN) or at least 60 miles from the facility (CO, KS, UT) to qualify for travel pay rates; a driver's license is used to confirm permanent address
