Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS)

Salaried Exempt Compensation:
$94,415 - $118,020 per year Pima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced and driven Diagnostic Medical Sonography professional to lead our DMS program at our Denver campus. In this role, you will oversee all educational activities of the program: directing faculty, managing curriculum, supporting student success, and ensuring the program operates at the highest standard of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and supervise the activities of DMS faculty and staff; prepare and manage teaching assignments. Establish, implement, and evaluate DMS department goals. Coordinate and revise the clinical and didactic education plan for the DMS program. Develop and maintain a functional curriculum according to approved design; evaluate course content and review new texts. Collaborate with administration in the design and implementation of the DMS program. Coordinate and arrange educational workshops and in-services for didactic and clinical faculty. Monitor the department budget and expenditures; make appropriate corrections to maintain a profitable program. Review student success rates and implement plans to reduce withdrawals; maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes taught. Evaluate student performance regarding course objectives and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs. Maintain student grades per established policies; prepare final grades at the end of each semester to update student records and transcripts. Perform functions of a DMS instructor as needed. Supervise the Clinical Director and program faculty.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the USDE. Graduate of an accredited Sonography program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA. Minimum 3 years of full-time experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field. Active RDMS credential from a nationally recognized sonography credentialing agency. Appropriate credential(s) specific to one or more concentrations offered (AB, OB/GYN). Current license, certification, or other credential as required by local, state, or federal laws. Academic and experiential background in the DMS profession. Coursework in instructional methodologies, evaluation, and assessment. Proficiency in curriculum development. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other computer applications.
