CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Vascular Ultrasound Technologist 3 performs advanced vascular ultrasound procedures and serves as a senior technical resource within the department. The role supports complex studies, prioritizes workflow, assists with staff education, and promotes high standards of image quality, patient care, and operational efficiency. The position exercises advanced judgment and ensures compliance with departmental, regulatory, and safety requirements.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS 1.
Performs advanced and complex vascular ultrasound procedures and produces high-quality diagnostic images and physiologic data of cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels. 2. Reviews patient history, physician orders, and clinical presentations and determines appropriate examination approach within departmental protocols. 3. Applies advanced technical knowledge and independent judgment to identify imaging challenges, resolve technical issues, and optimize study quality. 4. Communicates significant findings, workflow concerns, and technical issues to physicians, leadership, and care team members in a timely manner. 5. Prioritizes examinations based on patient condition, urgency, and departmental workflow needs. 6. Serves as a senior technical resource for staff, students, and cross-functional team members by providing guidance, instruction, and procedural support. 7. Assists with quality assurance activities, protocol consistency, competency support, and continuous improvement initiatives within the department. 8. Monitors equipment functionality and imaging quality and supports troubleshooting, maintenance coordination, and operational readiness. 9. Documents examination findings, technical data, and required records accurately and completely in applicable systems. 10. Communicates with physicians, nurses, and department staff regarding patient flow, procedure status, and routine findings as appropriate. 11. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required
Certification and Licensing:
