Job Description

Apply Echo Sonographer Cumming, Duluth, John's Creek, Alpharetta, GA Apply Job Type Full-time Description The Echo Sonography Technologist plays a key role in delivering imaging solutions to physicians, specializing in technical and patient care functions related to echo procedures within a clinical setting. This role involves planning the daily schedule for assigned procedures in collaboration with team members to ensure timely and efficient service delivery. The technologist ensures all necessary documentation, equipment, and supplies are prepared for testing. Additional responsibilities include maintaining departmental records, scheduling routine equipment maintenance, archiving studies, and contributing to Safety and Compliance committees. Requirements Essential Job Functions Processes diagnostic images for physician interpretation and communicates high-priority findings promptly to physicians. Evaluates and addresses patient needs before, during, and after diagnostic imaging and cardiac stress procedures. Maintains records in compliance with HIPAA, NRC, and TDH regulations. Evaluates and maintains quality control programs to ensure optimal performance of departmental equipment and instruments. Manages departmental supplies to maintain stability and readiness. Reviews and analyzes patient-specific data to determine appropriate procedures and methodologies. Documents any special considerations required for recording. Introduces patients to the testing environment and procedures, addresses patient questions, and ensures comfort and safety during procedures. Prepares patients for procedures, testing all equipment and recording devices, and making necessary adjustments. Performs echo screenings following departmental protocols to ensure high-quality evaluations. Analyzes and documents screening results, preparing reports and hard-copy images for physician review. Participates in ongoing education to stay informed of advancements and improve skills. Assists physicians in developing and refining testing protocols. Maintains required CEUs, state licenses, and specialty credentials. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Required Education, Experience & Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of AMA approved School of Echo/Sonography Programs or equivalent accredited training program Current active registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Knowledge and application of MS Office or equivalent Preferred Education, Experience & Skills Three years of experience in Echo Medicine, including one year as an Echo Technologist. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certification Knowledge and application of ICAEL and ICAVL Standards. Knowledge of GE Vivid Q and EchoPac Software Key physical and mental requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 50 pounds of force Ability to sit for extended periods of time Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving
