Job Description

Must hold current certification in echocardiography as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) via ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) via CCI. A minimum of 1 year of experience as an Echo Tech required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Perform comprehensive cardiac imaging as a skilled Cardiac Sonographer, applying expertise in adult, pediatric, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms. This travel opportunity in Austell, GA, calls for dedication to patient safety, accurate data collection, and effective communication, supporting diagnostic accuracy and patient care excellence. The role requires flexibility for rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute all cardiac ultrasound procedures following established protocols, including administration of Ultrasound Enhancing Agents and saline bubble studies where applicable. Obtain patient history and verify clinician orders prior to procedures. Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and dignity throughout the exam. Communicate clearly with patients and healthcare team members, providing preparatory instructions and oral summaries to physicians as needed. Maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring operation and cleanliness according to infection control standards. Participate in quality control and documentation, ensuring studies are properly identified and uploaded to PACS. Support department workflow by assisting colleagues, restocking supplies, and performing clerical duties when necessary. Remain compliant with all hospital and regulatory policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required; degree or diploma in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology preferred. Certification as ARDMS, RCS-CCI, or RDCS (Adult Echo) required upon hire. Current BLS certification from recognized agency required. Minimum of 1 year experience in echocardiography preferred. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and function both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to work 3 x 12-hour shifts with varying schedules, including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.
