Job Description
Category Imaging - Echo Job Type Travel This cardiac sonographer role offers the opportunity to perform comprehensive cardiac imaging including adult, pediatric, transesophageal (including structural heart), and stress echocardiograms, under the direction of the lead sonographer. The position involves working closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to obtain high-quality ultrasound images and provide preliminary findings. Responsibilities also include patient preparation and care, administration of Ultrasound Enhancing Agents (UEAs), quality control of equipment, and adherence to departmental protocols and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform all types of cardiac imaging in accordance with laboratory protocols. Verify clinician orders, obtain patient histories, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures. Administer UEAs and perform saline bubble studies as required. Communicate clearly with patients and the healthcare team, explaining procedures and addressing concerns. Maintain meticulous documentation and ensure proper image storage. Perform routine maintenance and calibration of ultrasound equipment. Participate in call, weekend, and holiday rotations. Assist team members across modalities as needed.Qualifications and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required; Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology degree preferred. ARDMS (Registered Medical Sonographer), RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer), CCI, RDCS, or RDCS-AE certification required upon hire. BLS certification mandatory. Minimum 1 year of echocardiography experience preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented with excellent critical thinking and multitasking abilities. Flexible and dependable with a commitment to follow hospital policies and procedures.Schedule:
3 x 12-hour shifts; various shifts requiring flexibility.Location:
