Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES I. JOB SUMMARY
Performs ultrasound examinations on patients. Works closely with physicians to support diagnosis and patient care.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. Must be able to adjust schedule for "on-call" coverage involving, but not limited to, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. May be assigned to work at other departments, within The Queen's Medical Center location.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A.
EDUCATION
Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) approved school of Ultrasound Technology or other approved program as determined by the department; or registered Radiologic Technologist with two (2) years supervised work/training in diagnostic ultrasound.
B. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE
Registered by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in Abdomen and OB/GYN sonography. If only registered in one (1) certification upon hire, must obtain the other certification within twenty-four (24) months of entrance into the position. Current BLS certification.
C. EXPERIENCE
Prior recent experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer in acute health care facility preferred. Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / Vet Your Health.
