Arlington Heights, IL 60005 Pay rate: $50-$60/hr Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Sonographer, a vital role dedicated to delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services that enhance patient care. As a Sonographer, you will utilize advanced ultrasound technology to produce detailed images of internal organs, tissues, and fetal development. Your expertise will support physicians in diagnosing and managing a wide range of medical conditions, with a special focus on maternal-fetal medicine and obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn). Duties Operate ultrasound equipment to capture clear, accurate images of patients' internal structures, including maternal-fetal assessments and general diagnostic imaging. Collaborate with obstetricians, gynecologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results and assist in diagnosis. Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols to maintain a sterile environment during procedures. Explain procedures clearly to patients, addressing their concerns with empathy while providing exceptional patient care throughout the imaging process. Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, imaging findings, and patient information in compliance with medical terminology standards and confidentiality regulations. Monitor equipment functionality regularly and perform basic troubleshooting or coordinate maintenance as needed to ensure optimal performance. Stay current with advancements in sonography techniques, anatomy knowledge, and diagnostic radiology practices through ongoing professional development. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sonographer with proficiency in medical imaging technologies and diagnostic procedures. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to obstetrics, gynecology, and general radiology. Demonstrated expertise in maternal-fetal medicine and obstetric ultrasound is highly desirable. Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control practices essential for patient safety. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Ability to interpret ultrasound images accurately and collaborate on diagnostic decisions. Certification from an accredited sonography program or equivalent credentialing body is required; additional certifications in specialized areas are advantageous.
