$31.76 - $41.28 based on skills and experience. Position Summary The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in an OB/GYN clinical setting to support the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of obstetric, gynecologic, reproductive, and thyroid-related conditions. This role ensures accurate imaging, timely documentation, and exceptional patient care in accordance with established clinical protocols and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive obstetric ultrasounds across all trimesters to assess fetal growth, anatomy, and well-being; assisting with early pregnancy evaluations; and performing thyroid imaging to support endocrine assessments. The Sonographer collaborates closely with physicians and clinical staff to provide accurate preliminary observations, maintain detailed electronic medical records, and ensure optimal workflow efficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform ultrasound procedures as prescribed by a physician including: positioning patients for the proper view of the affected area; selecting the appropriate scan images to be recorded on film; obtaining essential information from patients, medical records and previous scans for clinical correlation; instructing patients about the proper physiological requirements for the procedure; helping patient transfer to ultrasound examination table and ensuring adequate patient immobilization to perform the san.
Medical knowledge including:
a strong understanding of anatomy, adjusts positioning to obtain proper images, attention to detail, and ability to identify abnormalities in sonograms. Obtains diagnostic ultrasound images by scanning the appropriate body part of the patient with the scan head.

Develops/Processes film and digital imaging Submit diagnostic ultrasound examination and preliminary report to physician. Operate portable ultrasound equipment, including quality controls and required maintenance. Assist physicians with ultrasound guided biopsy and other procedures. Assist in performing life-saving techniques to the patient if necessary. Practice sterile techniques and prevent cross contamination. Perform patient care tasks as assigned. Requests charts and imaging as needed. Perform other related job duties as assigned or delegated. Conditions of Employment Must achieve satisfactory results from a background check Compliance with the current COVID19 vaccination policy Required Education & Experience High school diploma or GED equivalent. Successful completion of ultrasound program Registered (or registry eligible) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in OB/GYN. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of ultrasound examination policies, protocols. Computer literate; skill with accessing applicable programs.
