Job Description

Franciscan Health Crawfordsville Campus 1710 Lafayette Rd Crawfordsville, Indiana 47933 The Imaging Technologist II is critical for performing specialized and difficult diagnostic imaging examinations of patients, ionizing radiation to render optimum images which are used to support diagnoses and provide insight into medical issues, concerns or conditions. At Franciscan, this role is proficient in more than one modality and is required to be qualified to care for infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Utilize more than one imaging technique at times to produce images; the tech may combine images using optical, magnetic, and radioactive reporters to be detected by SPECT, MRI, and PET. To understand the uniqueness of each modality the tech specializes in and perform at least two of the following: X-rays, Computed Tomography Scan (CT Scan), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine Imaging, Positron-Emission Tomography (PET). Gather information on patients' illnesses and medical history to guide the choice of diagnostic procedures for therapy. Explain procedures and safety precautions to patients and answer patient questions. Ensure patients are not exposed to excessive amounts of radiation. Complete all imaging exams and procedures providing the most optimal images for review; process and evaluate according to policy and protocol. Perform venipunctures when applicable, utilizing universal precautions while administering contrast media.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Associate's Degree Radiology Required Certificate Radiology 1 year Radiology Required Basic Life Support Program (BLS)
  • American Heart Association Radiography (ARRT-R)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Indiana Registered Ultrasonographer (ARDMS)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
