Sonographer I- Acute Care (FT- 1.0 FTE, Variable Shift)

Position Summary:

The Acute Care Sonographer I provides ultrasound (US) health care services to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs US procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Primarily works independently in a highly complex, acute care inpatient setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification in OB/GYN or abdominal/small parts or is registry eligible and obtains certification within one year of date of hire Graduate from an accredited ultrasound school American Heart Association BLS within 60 days of hire Preferred One (1) year of post-graduation experience working in ultrasound

Essential Job Functions:

In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements. Perform US exams and procedures in an inpatient setting. Assist the Radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures. Complete documentation, in designated area, of all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams. Perform ancillary duties as required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures. Retrieve and review previous studies, reports, written orders, and related health information to ensure the timely performance and reporting of US exams and procedures. Participate in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of the organization's quality indicators as described in the strategic plan. Infectious diseases are caused by contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
