The sonographer is responsible for performing gynecological and obstetrical ultrasounds such as complete female assessments including endovaginal scans, follicular monitoring, obstetrical scanning (early pregnancy), as well as assisting the providers in ultrasound-guided procedures. This position requires collaboration with physicians, nurses and patients to provide expert care and service for fertility treatments.

Key Responsibilities :
Assists physicians with the uterine testing procedures and embryo transfers; Performs follicular, gynecological, and early obstetrical ultrasound exams; Reviews patient history and other support data to facilitate optimum diagnostic results; Performs diagnostic procedures and prepares patients for what to expect by explaining procedures; Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers appropriate transducers to perform exams; Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures; Performs routine and complex studies and assists in a variety of imaging procedures; Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations; Ensures equipment is properly functioning; Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel; Ensures prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to EMR; Maintains infection control policies with regard to the cleanliness of equipment and environment of the ultrasound work area, with proper set up and cleaning of the ultrasound rooms between examinations; Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms and any other areas in department; Supports clinic operations and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Certifications Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited medical radiography program is required Must be certified in diagnostic ultrasound in accordance with state regulations Current American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) license is required
ARDMS OB/GYN
credential required or additional certification relevant to specialty area Current BLS certification Preferred Experience 3+ years of sonography experience Minimum 1 year of experience in OB/GYN sonography with strong background specifically in infertility ultrasound preferred. Work Environment:
Physical environment requires the employee to work inside in a temperature-controlled building.
