Position Summary:
Under the general guidance of the physicians/providers performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures . Performs sonographic examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician. Provides age-appropriate care to patients across the lifespan. Maintains supplies and ensures a clean, orderly work area; notifies supervisor of needed items. Maintains and calibrates equipment to ensure accuracy and longevity. Acts as a consultant and educational resource for physicians and staff regarding appropriateness and accuracy of scans. Participates in performance improvement and continuing education. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Performs other duties as assigned.
What we are looking for:
Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or School of Radiology required. One year of diagnostic medical sonography experience preferred. Graduate of an accredited DMS program or
ARRT/DMS
certification BLS required within 30 days of hire. Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days after hire date. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Language Skills:
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
