1 Description American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a General Ultrasound position requiring ARDMS (AB) certification and a minimum of 3 years of experience. Details General diagnostic ultrasound setting within a regional medical center Modalities include abdominal, OB, and small parts ultrasound Day shift schedule with on-call coverage from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM on weekends and holidays No weeknight or overnight call required 13-week contract Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer ARDMS (AB) certification required Current BLS certification required Active Maine state license required, if applicable Graduate of an accredited sonography program Associate degree preferred Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations Additional Information Perform routine and specialized general ultrasound examinations including abdominal, OB, small parts, and ultrasound-guided interventional procedures such as biopsies Correlate clinical history with requested exams and consult with referring physicians and radiologists as needed Responsible for scheduling ultrasound exams, coordinating with central scheduling, and managing add-ons and walk-ins Maintain EMR documentation, process orders and charges in IT/IS systems, and ensure accuracy of physician orders and patient records Evaluate image quality, monitor equipment performance, and report equipment issues as needed Supports a student-inclusive environment and contributes to the educational experience of learners on the team First-time travelers will be considered based on experience and qualifications
