Job Description

The Ultrasound Sonographer for the Hannibal Mobile Radiology Program will provide high-quality ultrasound services, including breast, echocardiography, general, and vascular ultrasound to patients in rural and underserved communities. This position is integral to ensuring timely and accurate diagnoses by producing detailed sonographic images and assisting with patient care. The Sonographer will work collaboratively with the mobile imaging team to support the program's mission of improving access to essential imaging services and enhancing patient outcomes. Graduate of a recognized, accredited ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) or have the necessary certifications required. Proficiency in operating US equipment and related software systems. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and imaging techniques. Familiarity of administering contrast agent safely. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Empathy and patience when dealing with anxious or uncooperative patients. Ability to assess images for quality and troubleshoot issues during scans. Quick decision-making in emergency situation (e.g., adverse reactions to contrast). Precision in positioning patients and setting up equipment. Accurate documentation of procedures in patient records. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide compassionate patient care. Flexibility and adaptability to work in a mobile environment and interact with diverse patient populations.
