As an Imaging - Ultrasound General professional in Raleigh, you'll collaborate closely with dynamic healthcare teams and broaden your professional expertise. This role offers unique insight into cutting-edge diagnostic procedures, diverse workplace protocols, and a chance to refine your leadership skills by training residents and working alongside skilled radiologists.
Schedule/Hours:
Travel assignment; specifics provided upon application
Key Responsibilities:
Assist radiologists during invasive diagnostic procedures, including needle biopsies, aspirations, and guided needle-wire placement for surgery. Standardize protocols and provide training to residents on specialized exams. Evaluate patient readiness for procedures, including assessing medications, preparation, or patient tolerances. Perform ultrasound procedures under direct or general supervision as determined by the exam type and physician requirements. Identify and differentiate normal and abnormal sonographic features, structures, and blood flow. Continually analyze findings throughout exams to ensure comprehensive diagnostic data for physicians. Recognize and escalate situations requiring direct radiologist oversight during real-time scans. Acquire and record Doppler signals, images, and relevant patient data for radiologist interpretation. Communicate preliminary findings and exam results to radiologists and referring physicians.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
Demonstrated skills in General Ultrasound imaging, with proficiency in both routine and complex diagnostic procedures. Prior experience in invasive imaging techniques is strongly desired. Strong understanding of sonographic characteristics across varied tissue types and pathologies. Excellent communication and teaching skills.
