PM Overview:
Join our dedicated team as an Ultrasound Technician, where you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care for women's health and family practice patients. In this position, you will utilize your expertise in ultrasound technology to support clinical decisions, prioritize patient comfort, and contribute to the overall health of our community.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Preparation and Care:
Prepare the exam room and assist patients prior to ultrasound procedures, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment.
Conducting Ultrasound Exams:
Effectively operate sonographic equipment to perform thorough ultrasound examinations. Produce detailed reports based on findings and promptly communicate any abnormalities requiring immediate attention to appropriate healthcare professionals.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services rendered in the electronic medical record. Adhere to all policies and protocols in compliance with CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and JCAHO regulations.
Equipment Management:
Regularly perform maintenance on ultrasound equipment. Report any malfunctions immediately to ensure continual operational efficacy.
Customer Service Excellence:
Monitor workflow and prioritize patient needs to minimize delays. Engage with patients warmly, providing updates and expressing gratitude for their trust in our services.
Team Collaboration:
Work cooperatively as part of the interdisciplinary Care Team, communicating effectively with nurses, lab personnel, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Manage shared tasks including answering phones, organizing common areas, and contributing to the training and orientation of new employees.
Multilingual Support:
If applicable, provide translation assistance for patients with limited English proficiency in the absence of an interpreter.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), preferred: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with OBGYN specialty. Minimum of 5 years of experience as an ultrasound technician, preferably in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Current CPR certification and up-to-date immunizations. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; bilingual capabilities preferred. Strong ability to foster inclusive relationships while serving as an advocate for diverse populations.
