1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a 13-week outpatient OB/GYN clinic assignment requiring ARDMS certification and a minimum of 2 years of OB/GYN ultrasound experience. Details Outpatient OB/GYN and midwifery clinic setting with 2 ultrasound rooms Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients with diagnoses including pregnancy and GYN conditions Expected caseload of approximately 10 ultrasounds per day across a mix of OB/GYN patients Procedures include transabdominal (TA) and transvaginal (TV) ultrasounds, GYN scans, dating/viability, anatomy, growth, NT, and BPP scans Equipment includes GE Expert 22, GE E8, and V-scan ProAir Epic EMR experience required; Pyxis also used on unit 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM No call, float, or weekend requirements 13-week contract Requirements Minimum of 2 years of relevant OB/GYN ultrasound experience required Experience in an outpatient or clinic setting required OB/GYN skills required across all trimesters (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) Proficiency in isolation precautions required Epic EMR experience required Active ARDMS certification required OB certification required Active BLS required NC State License required (license required if applicable) Valid Driver's License required First-time travelers will not be considered for this position Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 2 years required prior to start Additional Information Perform a mix of OB/GYN ultrasounds including TA and TV exams, GYN scans, dating/viability, anatomy, growth, NT, and BPP studies Work within a midwifery practice supported by 9 midwives and 4 MDs providing GYN care Weekly orientation totaling approximately 40 hours; pre-start modules (approximately 4-5 hours for non-acute roles) must be completed prior to start date and annually thereafter Start date is subject to change based on class and trainer availability; travelers may begin on a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week and must be fully available with no other commitments during orientation week Missing any portion of orientation may result in a delayed or canceled start No RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be approved for the remainder of the contract as long as it does not fall on a holiday Candidate must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays Royal blue scrubs required; scrubs are not provided Local candidates are accepted; candidates living within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a different pay rate Previous permanent, PRN, or EP staff employees of this health system must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required Travel pairs are allowed but must have independent transportation and be comfortable with potentially different schedules
