Job Overview:
Sonographers provide patient services using diagnostic ultrasound equipment. The sonographer is competent in the production & analysis of ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis & treatment. In addition, the individual must be prepared to render quality patient care by exercising discretion & judgement in the performance of sonographic services.
Qualifications:
Required:
Graduate of accredited school of sonography
Preferred:
Certified by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Registry eligible Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):
Per Diem Evening Essential Functions:
Prepares & sends specimens to labs in the absence of the secretary. Prepares exam rooms before patient enters & cleans room following patient's exit. Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures by assisting them onto the table & instructing them in the procedure that is being performed. Selects & records appropriate images for the permanent The sonographer is competent in the production & analysis of ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis & treatment. In addition, the individual must be prepared to render quality patient care by exercising discretion & judgement in the performance of sonographic services.
