Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and patient-centered Breast Ultrasound Technologist to join our growing breast surgery program. This role is ideal for a candidate with prior experience in a breast surgery, breast imaging, and/or surgical oncology practice who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical ultrasound skills, knowledge of BIRADS categorization and breast imaging workflows, and experience supporting in-office breast procedures from patient preparation through pathology/result coordination and follow-up support. This position plays a key role in supporting both clinical efficiency and an exceptional patient experience within a collaborative multidisciplinary breast care team. Key Responsibilities Perform high-quality diagnostic breast ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician protocols and breast imaging standards Assist breast surgeons with in-office procedures including ultrasound-guided biopsies, aspirations, seromas, and localization procedures Provide real-time ultrasound guidance during procedures while maintaining sterile technique and procedural efficiency Prepare and maintain procedure rooms, supplies, equipment, and sterile fields for clinic and procedure days Support workflow related to pathology/result tracking, retrieval, and coordination of outcome documentation Understand and appropriately communicate BIRADS categories and imaging findings to support clinical workflow and timely patient care coordination Collaborate closely with surgeons, radiology teams, navigators, schedulers, and clinical staff to ensure seamless patient throughput Accurately document imaging, procedures, and clinical communications within the EMR Assist with patient education, procedural expectations, and follow-up coordination in a compassionate and professional manner Support practice growth initiatives and adapt to evolving workflows within a rapidly expanding breast program Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program ARDMS registered (Breast certification preferred) Minimum 2+ years of experience in breast imaging, breast surgery, surgical oncology, or women's imaging strongly preferred Experience in a private practice or outpatient breast center environment preferred Hands-on experience with ultrasound-guided breast procedures strongly preferred Working knowledge of BIRADS classification and breast imaging workflows required Experience with EMR documentation and pathology/result management workflows preferred Skills & Attributes Strong technical and procedural ultrasound skills Knowledge of sterile technique and procedural flow Ability to anticipate provider needs in a fast-paced procedural environment Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities Compassionate patient care approach with strong emotional intelligence Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to support operational growth and evolving workflows Team-oriented with a collaborative and proactive approach Work Setting Fast-paced outpatient breast surgery and surgical oncology practice Combination of clinic and in-office procedural days Travel between regional office locations required
Compensation & Benefits:
Pay Range:
$45-$52 an hour the starting rate within this range for this role varies depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.- Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, HSA and Long-Term Disability insurance
