This role is based in a collaborative perinatal care environment where sonography plays a key part in supporting diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing patient care alongside a team of supervising physicians. The Perinatal Sonographer is responsible for performing and documenting high-quality obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations ordered by attending physicians. Working closely with the clinical team, this position involves acquiring and analyzing imaging data, generating preliminary reports within the PACS system, and communicating findings to physicians to support clinical decision-making. In addition to diagnostic imaging, responsibilities include assisting with ultrasound-guided obstetric procedures, ensuring proper room setup and equipment readiness, and maintaining consistent performance of imaging systems. The role also serves as an important communication link between patients and physicians, helping ensure clear understanding of procedures and findings while maintaining a patient-centered experience. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to respond appropriately to urgent clinical situations, and adherence to all patient privacy and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
Current ARDMS certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology required at time of hire RVT certification preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA) Nasal Bone certification required from an accredited program Nuchal Translucency certification required from an accredited program Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certification preferred but not required Minimum of 2 years of OB ultrasound experience or experience in a Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic required
Schedule:
Full-time Monday-Thursday:
8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Friday:
8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. No weekends or on-call Occasional overtime during scheduled shifts
