Ultrasound Technologist (PD) Northwell Health - 3.7 New York, NY Job Details Per diem $70.76 an hour 17 hours ago Qualifications Diagnostic imaging equipment High school diploma or GED Vascular technology diagnostics Operating medical imaging equipment Full Job Description Job Description Operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment. Obtains high quality diagnostic images. Performs ultrasound procedures at a technical level, not requiring direct supervision. Job Responsibility Under the direction of a qualified physician, performs a variety of ultrasound procedures including routine vascular, abdominal/ visceral, small parts, pelvic/TV, obstetrical, neonatal, portable and operating room procedures according to established department protocols and procedures. Produces high ultrasound imaging in order to obtain diagnostic information. Provides information and explanation to patient in regard to the procedure. Presents and communicates pertinent case information and clinical images to radiologist. Assists in invasive procedures upon physicians request. Reviews each examination for technical accuracy. Identifies anatomical orientation on all images. Ensures proper identification of films. Corrects errors, as necessary. Obtains CME credits via journal clubs and other venues. Prepares and cleans room for patient examinations. Assists in the orientation and training of technologists in training. Performs related duties, as required. ADA Essential Functions Job Qualification High School diploma or GED, required. Completion of approved training program in ultrasound technology, required. Current Registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or must be registered within one (1) year of hire. Experience with Radiology Information System, ultrasound equipment and laser equipment, required. Minimum one (1) year experience as an ultrasound technologist, preferred Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
