Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Per Diem Ultrasound Sonographer to join our dynamic healthcare team one to two days per week with potential for additional days. The Ultrasound Sonographer will perform a wide range of ultrasound exams, such as general ultrasound and vascular ultrasound exams on incoming patients. The Sonographer maintains appropriate confidentiality regarding personal health information, including but not limited to demographics, diagnosis, health history, and physician referral information. This person is responsible for all paperwork associated with technical procedures and responds to physician questions and needs regarding patient procedures. Duties Performs all ultrasound procedures in strict accordance with currently approved practices as outlined in procedure manuals, complying with all applicable federal, state, local and other regulatory requirements. Produces high quality diagnostic images in a timely manner while providing excellent patient care. Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and ensure a positive experience. Monitors patients' well-being during exam; recognizes patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action. Maintain detailed documentation of imaging procedures, findings, and patient information in accordance with medical standards. Collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members to provide comprehensive diagnostic insights. Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in medical imaging technology and maintain proficiency in anatomy knowledge, physiology, and medical terminology. Experience Proven experience as an ultrasound sonographer with a strong background in abdomen, gynecologic, general or vascular ultrasound preferred. Familiarity with medical imaging equipment, diagnostic radiology principles, and anatomy is essential. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly and compassionately to patients of diverse backgrounds. Prior experience working in clinical settings that require strict aseptic technique and adherence to safety protocols is highly desirable. Certification or licensure as a sonographer (such as ARDMS or equivalent) is preferred.
