Job Description

Review physician orders and place patients in the examination rooms. Use of high tech sonography equipment to produce images for ordered procedure. Perform screening and measuring procedures according to protocol. Communication with the patient and ensuring their comfort during the procedure. Use good judgment when reviewing images to provide the best ultrasound for the Physician who will read the ultrasound. Maintain, scan patient charts into EMR Ensure patient results and correspondences are reviewed in a timely manner by the physician and appropriate follow up is performed according to the physician's direction Maintain an adequate supply of inventory in each of the exam rooms while ensuring the cleanliness of the examination room Category Ultra Sound Technician Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt Location South Bay OBGYN
  • OB/GYN Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time and/or Part-Time Position Requirements Education and Experience An accredited degree and Certification in Ultrasound ACOG certification (preferred) Must have prior experience working as an Ultrasound Technician (minimum of 2 years) Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge of both clerical and clinical practices and procedures Candidate should have excellent computer skills and some knowledge of using an electronic medical record and various other computer applications needed to perform the job Ultrasound experience with OB/GYN procedures Key competencies: Excellent communication skills Compassion and understanding Planning and organizing Work and time management Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Flexibility with the ability to multi-task Information gathering and monitoring Initiative Integrity Teamwork and collaboration Preferred Skills Computer skills, Knowledge of EMR, word, excel Insurance knowledge Ability to multi task Shift•not applicable•Tags Located in West Islip, Full-Time/Part-Time, Benefits & PTO, Evening shifts & some Saturday's required Salary Range $37.
