Job Description

Job Overview ERP International, LLC is bidding on Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in support of Keller Army Hospital, West Point, NY.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday between 7a-4p and/or 4p-7:30a. Call required. Weekends between 4p on Friday through 730a Monday. Holidays 24 hours 12:01a-12:00a Duties Proficient at using diagnostic ultrasound to provide cross sectional evaluation of all soft tissue organs in the abdomen and pelvis to include liver, gallbladder, kidneys, pancreas, spleen, aorta, uterus, ovaries, adnexa, lower and upper extremity venous dopplers; small parts to include thyroid, neck, testicles; Pediatrics to include: neonatal heads, pyloric stenosis, appendix, intussusception, hips, and spines; Obstetrics to include: 1st and 2nd Trimester; Collaborate with Mammography and Radiologists during ultrasound guided breast biopsies. Perform comprehensive quality assurance review of all acquired ultrasound images to include preliminary findings for submission to the radiologist for interpretation. Perform all associated administrative duties contributing to positive outcomes in patient care to include: advanced computer knowledge, receptionist, scheduling, proficient in all documentation, and record maintenance to ensure accuracy and patient confidentiality, HIPAA, and TJC requirements. Provide a variety of sonographic examinations to a patient population that ranges from infant to geriatric. Participates in the orientation of students, technologists, military personnel, and radiology residents in the principles, techniques, and protocols of ultrasound. Work independently and be able to recognize situations or abnormalities that require the radiologist's immediate attention or direct observation in real-time. Uses critical thinking to allow for a safe patient environment and adjust exam presets or scanning techniques to multiple patient presentations (i.e. body habitus, modes of transportation, presenting pathology, anatomical variants, mental and emotional status, history of abuse or trauma, etc.) Routinely refer to standard reference texts and journals to keep abreast of current trends, developments, and changing protocols within the field of ultrasound. Prepare all documentation to meet established standards of the MTF to include but not limited to timeliness, legibility, accuracy, content and signature. Only MTF and ARMY approved abbreviations shall be used for documentation of care in the health care record. Perform other duties as assigned within the general scope of those normally performed by a registered ultrasound technologist in an inpatient and outpatient setting.
Qualifications Education:
Be a graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited ultrasound or diagnostic medical sonography program.
Experience:
Two years in the last three years of experience post certification in an acute care hospital setting supporting both emergency services and outpatient clinics.
Certifications:
Certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Possess active certification and good standing with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) with registries in Abdomen (AB) and Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB). Breast Sonography certification (B) encouraged and preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
