$50•$70 per Hour (Based on Experience) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Urology Ultrasound Technologist to join a busy outpatient clinical team in Manhattan, NY. This role is responsible for performing specialized diagnostic ultrasound procedures, with a strong focus on urology and prostate imaging. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills, strong patient care abilities, and experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Diagnostic Imaging Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established clinical protocols. Conduct specialized urology and prostate ultrasound procedures. Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Capture, review, and transfer images to PACS for physician interpretation. Assist providers during ultrasound-guided procedures when required. Patient Care Prepare patients for examinations and clearly explain procedures. Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout imaging procedures. Monitor patients during examinations and respond appropriately to concerns or complications. Maintain a professional and compassionate approach to patient interactions. Equipment & Operations Maintain ultrasound equipment and perform routine quality checks. Clean and prepare equipment between patient examinations. Ensure adequate supplies and imaging materials are available. Report equipment issues or maintenance concerns promptly. Administrative & Department Support Support patient scheduling and workflow coordination. Maintain accurate patient records and examination documentation. Assist with phone inquiries and patient communication as needed. Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives. Mentor and assist in training new ultrasound staff when appropriate. Required Qualifications Education Associate Degree or equivalent education required. Certifications ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) required. Current BLS Certification required. Experience Minimum 2 years of Ultrasound Technologist experience required. Strong experience performing prostate ultrasound examinations. Hands-on experience with the VU Ultrasound System required. Experience working in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred. Required Skills Proficiency in diagnostic ultrasound imaging techniques. Strong understanding of urologic and prostate imaging procedures. Knowledge of PACS and electronic imaging systems. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication and patient interaction skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to image quality. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team. Preferred Qualifications Experience in urology-focused imaging environments. Familiarity with physician-assisted ultrasound procedures. Previous experience training or mentoring imaging staff.
