Job Description

Category Imaging - Ultrasound General Job Type Contract Delivering expert patient care, the Ultrasound Technician performs high-quality ultrasound imaging as prescribed by physicians, assisting in accurate diagnosis and treatment. This contract opportunity offers professionals the chance to make a meaningful impact while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain ARDMS certification and modality-specific clinical competency. Accurately verify patient identity, confirm orders, and prepare patients for imaging procedures. Conduct general ultrasound and vascular studies in alignment with established departmental protocols. Evaluate images for optimal clarity, quality, and diagnostic accuracy. Complete studies efficiently while upholding the highest standards of patient care. Provide guidance and instruction to students and other radiologic technologists regarding exam procedures, positioning, and equipment use. Effectively educate patients about procedures, address concerns, and ensure an overall positive experience. Strictly practice sterile and infection control techniques. Operate imaging equipment and related information systems to produce and store quality images. Maintain comprehensive records of patient data, performed procedures, and any adverse reactions. Remain compliant with protocols for medical necessity, consents, coding, and equipment reporting. Support and participate in management reporting, quality control, and all required documentation. Apply advanced imaging techniques and demonstrate strong anatomical knowledge. Prioritize tasks, communicate effectively, and respond to emergency situations. Work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
Desired Qualifications:
Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) or equivalent certification. Expertise in general and vascular ultrasound imaging. Proficient in patient positioning, image evaluation, and operation of ultrasound equipment. Strong communication, organizational skills, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
