Job Description
This position is ECB status - requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings.
Job Summary:
The Student, Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound procedures in at least one of the following: abdominal, obstetrics and gynecology, adult or pediatric echocardiography or peripheral vascular ultrasound. This role provides hands-on training in performing ultrasound procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED. Must be enrolled in and completed at least one year of an accredited Sonography program. Licensure, Registration and/or
Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365. Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. Ability to perform basic ultrasound procedures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Exercises appropriate judgment, efficiency, and correct technique in the performance of ultrasound imaging. Performs ultrasound exams under supervision, ensuring accurate image acquisition. Maintains proper documentation of data according to departmental and hospital policy/protocols. Collaborates effectively with patients, family, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team. Supports unit/hospital goals through quality assurance and educational activities. Complies with all departmental and hospital policies while ensuring compliance with safety standards and infection control procedures. Documents procedures and maintains accurate patient records.
Decision Making:
Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.
Working Relationships:
Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
