Job Description

About us: Thank you for considering Salem Radiology Consultants (SRC)! Since 1973, we have provided premier outpatient imaging services to residents in Salem and those throughout the greater Willamette Valley. Apart from our advanced imaging services, our primary focus is patient care and our staff. Without one of those, we would not be able to continue contributing to our community. Duties/Responsibilities :
  • Determine test procedures according to the purpose of the examination and review patient's prior imaging exams.
  • Explain procedure to patient and assists patient in the proper positioning for the exam.
  • Enter patient information into the computer to become part of the test record.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment, select transducer and adjust settings appropriately to obtain optimal images.
  • Move handheld transducer over specified area of body, while observing on the monitor analyze the image and selectively record images for the patient's permanent record.
  • Identifying and documenting normal anatomy and pathology.
  • Record diagnostic ultrasound images onto PACS.
  • Effectively communicate findings to the radiologist either written, verbally or both.
  • Assist radiologist or physician assistant during invasive procedures.
  • Check equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper operation.
Required Skills/Abilities :
  • Experience with a variety of ultrasound equipment optimizing B mode, spectral and color-flow Doppler imaging, and a variety of transducers including endocavity transducers.
  • Exercise initiative, critical thinking and independent judgment.
  • Good organizational skills for working independently.
  • Good communication skills for patients, peers, radiologists and other healthcare workers.
  • Excellent people skills for relating to concerns of patients.
Education and Experience :
  • RVT or RDMS certification (required)
  • Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) license (required)
Physical Requirements :
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Body mechanics such as bending, stretching, twisting and reaching out.
  • Repetitive movements of scanning arm & hand for long periods of time.
  • Assists in moving patient to and from exam bed.
  • Moving patients weighing over 100 lbs from wheelchair to exam bed.
  • Pushing wheelchair bound patients from waiting area to exam room.
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time Pay:
$39.75 - $58.12 per hour
