9:00 am - 7:30 pm, Rotating days and some weekends as needed Your role with us A vascular tech at Salem Health performs comprehensive vascular ultrasound studies including carotid, venous, arterial, abdominal and transcranial Doppler exams to provide accurate diagnostic information while ensuring patient safety, comfort and privacy. They assess and prepare patients, adjust imaging techniques to capture precise hemodynamic and anatomical data, monitor patient responses and report critical findings promptly. The role also involves equipment maintenance, accurate documentation and billing, teamwork, and contributing to departmental training and improvement initiatives. What you'll do Perform comprehensive vascular ultrasound exams including carotid, arterial, venous, abdominal and transcranial Doppler studies while acquiring accurate images, measurements and hemodynamic data for physician interpretation. Assess, prepare, and position patients to ensure safety, comfort, and high-quality imaging, while monitoring their responses throughout procedures. Identify and report critical findings promptly and respond appropriately to adverse reactions or emergent situations. Maintain proficiency with ultrasound technology by adjusting imaging techniques, operating Doppler modalities, troubleshooting equipment and ensuring devices are properly cleaned and maintained. Document procedures, images, and billing accurately in alignment with hospital policies and professional standards. Collaborate with team members and support departmental development through training, orientation, committee involvement, and contribution to ongoing projects and protocol improvements. Required qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Basic life support (BLS) certification. Practice of Sonography (OBMI) license. Must have one or both Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) and Registered Vascular Specialist within six months of hire. Graduate from an accredited school of non invasive cardiovascular technology/ultrasound or three years recent experience and at least 800 vascular procedures performed. Additional information Recent experience as a vascular sonographer in a hospital based, cardiovascular non-invasive department preferred.
