I. PURPOSE OF JOB
: Perform ultrasound procedures on high-risk obstetrical patients for Perinatologist to read and following the policies, procedures, and protocols of the unit.
II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: 1. Plans, manages and performs all required studies including nuchal translucency, level 1, level 2, Doppler flow, endovaginal studies, multiple gestations and assists with invasive procedures such as amniocentesis and Chorionic Villi sampling maintaining an awareness of the normal while reporting variations to the Perinatologist. 2. Uses the hospital systems such as Client Server, PACS and the schedule to safely contact patients, document appropriately, and maintain studies in the hospital system as per hospital policy. 3. Communicates and collaborates with patients, physicians and family members in order to achieve excellence in patient care. 4. Promotes patient safety through adherence to protocols, policies and procedures, evidence based guidelines, State regulations, and Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals, 5. Maintains clinical competency according to unit-specific standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Graduate of accredited program. • Registered/Registry eligible for RDMS. (acquire within one year of hire)
Experience:
• Prior experience- 3 years OB/GYN and/or perinatal Ultrasound.
Other Skills:
