Description Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Ultrasound Supervisor and/or radiologist, performs a variety of ultrasound procedures, including invasive procedures.
Education:
Required:
ARDMS (compliant with all continuing education mandates) or Graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program and considered registry eligible by the
ARDMS ARRT
Required for certain campuses (EAST)
Experience:
Required:
Medical and/or hospital clinical experience required Basic computer experience required (1-2 years work experience or college level classes)
Preferred:
One year prior hospital experience in ultrasound preferred. Position Requirement(s):
License/Certification/Registration Required:
One of the following: 1) ARRT and ARDMS registered 2) ARDMS registered 3) ARDMS registry eligible (certification within two years) 4) BLS prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward
Department Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Ultrasound Supervisor and/or radiologist, performs a variety of ultrasound procedures, including invasive procedures. This position requires independent judgment and initiative in utilization of ultrasound equipment to create high quality images. Excellent communication and rapport with physicians is required. The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
