Job Description
This position is Saturday, Sunday. One weekend call coverage minimum per month. Do you have the PRN career opportunities as an Echo Technician you want with your current employer? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join St. Davids Georgetown Hospital which is part of the nations leading provider of healthcare services, HCA Healthcare. Job Summary and Qualifications As an Echo Technician, you will be responsible for performing all assigned diagnostic ultrasound exams in a timely manner. Performs procedures according to physicians orders. As a member of the care team, the Echo Technician is responsible for working collaboratively with other members to assure safe and accurate delivery of patient care. Responsible for direct and indirect patient care, diagnostic tests which include Adult Echocardiogram. Maintains professional standards and seeks professional growth. Provides care to patients ranging from neonatal to geriatrics. Employee's conduct must reflect the company's values and a commitment to the Code of Conduct. Employee reflects SDH Service Excellence standards in every interaction. Consistently produces scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients. Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Follows established scanning and filming protocols. Operates the Ultrasound units efficiently and effectively. Maintains thorough knowledge of the operating parameters of the scanner Documents, on PACS or in writing, information seen during exam. Completes quality scans in a timely manner, effectively organizes and prioritizes workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands. Demonstrates proficiency in scanning trauma, acute & challenging patients; possess skill to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed. Relays to Cardiologist any relevant patient information. Possess knowledge of disease processes and images these findings adequately; communicates them to the Cardiologist. Demonstrates preparedness for patient arret or critically ill patients Demonstrate the ability to perform organizational and related duties in Ultrasound Function independently and problem solve effectively, considering alternatives. Clean exam tables and restock Ultrasound supplies as needed or used. Perform other duties as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
One year experience performing adult echocardiograms- preferred Proficiency in Stress Echo, TEE
- preferred Proficiency in Carotid ultrasound, Trans Cranial Doppler studies
- preferred Associate's Degree in Ultrasound Technology education Basic Life Support (BLS) as per St. David's Healthcare policy Registry in Cardiac Ultrasound (RDCS) from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI
