Job Description

A busy surgical practice specializing in Vascular Surgery is currently looking to fill the position of Sonographer, Vascular Ultrasound. We are looking for a person who is bright and friendly. A candidate that has a RVT designation and is highly qualified, and experienced in vascular ultrasound, specifically for varicose vein/venous studies and venous treatments/procedures in the office setting. The patient's come first! We want a candidate that has excellent customer service skills and wants to bring a smile to the patients and the office staff. They have excellent clinical skills, customer service skills and a positive attitude. The right candidate will be responsible for all vascular studies done in the office. Those studies will include lower extremity venous studies, arterial studies. The candidate will also be responsible for assisting the physician/surgeon with vein procedures and providing ultrasound during the procedures. The right candidate will be able to handle multiple tasks at one time. Willing to learn and adapt quickly in the busy days of patient care. A bonus will be if the candidate is willing to handle procedure setup including prepping the instrument table and room for procedures. The candidate must be able to take directions from the medical and administrative staff and execute those directions. Must be able to work independently during down times to complete all duties and requirements of the surgeon and administrator. The sonographer/ultrasound tech handles a variety of duties in the front and back office including:
  • Answering phones
  • Able to work within an EMR for scheduling
  • Adept using Microsoft suite Office products
  • Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Has a professional, polite, appearance and demeanor
  • HIPAA training and compliance
  • Proper handling and knowledge of medical supplies
  • stocking supplies
  • inventory
  • cleaning patient rooms
  • Taking out the trash
  • Proper discarding of medical waste
  • All aspects of patient care
  • including wound care
  • Assisting the administrator with management duties if needed.
  • Be able to lift up to 50lbs Here are the requirement/ skills/ desired traits we are looking for:
Requirements/ Skills:
  • Certified Sonographer with RVT designation
  • Licensed
  • College Degree
  • preferred
  • High School Diploma/ GED certification
  • Patient vitals
  • Injections
  • Knowledge of EMR's
  • Excellent computer skills
  • including Microsoft Office
  • Medical Record/ EMR patient Entry
  • Patient Scheduling
  • Handling of surgical instruments
  • Sterile set up
  • CPR Certified
  • HIPAA and OSHA Compliance Knowledge
  • Desired Skills:
  • Bi-Lingual in Spanish
  • Knowledge in Vascular Surgery
  • Knowledge in Vein Care
  • Knowledge in Acute Care in the hospital setting
  • Scheduling Surgeries or in-office procedures
  • Unna Boot wraps
  • Sterile handling of surgical instruments and set up
  • Assist with in-office procedures
