Monday-Friday River City Imaging Centers Ultrasound Technician, RVT, Breast Registry Ultrasound Department Location:
New Braunfels, TX

  • Start your career in our Ultrasound Department department at RCIC Seeking an Ultrasound Technologist (sonographer) who performs diagnostic procedures utilizing a background in anatomy, physiology, physics and instrumentation to provide technical information to aid the physician.
The sonographer will maintain technical skills needed to perform ultrasound procedures to include Breast Imaging, abdominal, OB/GYN, venous Doppler, small parts, pediatrics (where applicable) and invasive exams. In addition, the sonographer will maintain department supplies and equipment and will participate in the quality control of the ultrasound department. What you will do in this role: 1. Maintains skills and understanding of innovation in techniques and equipment in medical sonography. Breast and Vascular experience required. 2. Assists physicians in performing ultrasound-guided biopsies and other invasive procedures. 3. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. 4. Responsible for the proper use of the Radiology Computer System (scheduling exams, patient tracking, film tracking, proper completion of exams, capture charges). 5. Follows safety policies and procedures applicable to the job, recognizes impending crisis situations and institutes measures (such as adjusting priorities) to prevent further complications. 6. Understands and follows infection control/universal precautions in the performance of all job tasks. Maintains order and cleanliness. Always practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination. 7. Support other modalities in department.
Qualifications Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics:
A. Successful completion of training program in either: 1. Ultrasonography 3. Vascular Technology 4. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable). 5.
Preferred:
Two (2) years experience as ultrasound technologist in a hospital or diagnostic imaging clinic setting preferred 6.
Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:
Must have and maintain ONE of the following: A. American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) i. RDMS
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer ii. RDCS
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer iii. RVT
  • Registered Vascular Technologist B.
