Perinatal Sonographer

Job Summary and Qualifications Prepare patients, collects relevant information for completion of procedures Manage ultrasound equipment and recognize significant diagnostic information Demonstrate ability to perform all necessary computer operations to include billing functions Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner and always identify patients utilizing the proper protocol. Prepare ultrasound machine, recognize significant diagnostic function and participate in Equipment Quality Control Program. Assist physicians in administering medications, performing invasive procedures and all types care to patient Review patients' record from referring physician and perform exams that correlate with physician orders. Demonstrate willingness to assist in additional duties Maintain a clean work area by following infection control policies, sterile techniques and safety policies. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employees and patients. Complete and maintain educational requirements. Maintain supplies for all examinations. Assist with annual supply inventory. Initiate and document patient teaching including family and/or significant other. Participate in Quality Program. Assist with annual inventory.

What qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED :

Minimum of 1 year as a staff sonographer

PREFERRED

Multiple years as a staff sonographer

EDUCATION

REQUIRED:

Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiology Technology and/or competently trained in ultrasound or graduate of an AMA approved School of Ultrasound Technology. Responsible for continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT and or ARDMS for licensure

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
