Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm Position Summary The Pediatric and Fetal Cardiac Sonographer will perform and analyze Pediatric and Adult Congenital Echocardiograms, requiring an extensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology to ascertain diagnosis of complex congenital heart disease in the pediatric and adult congenital patient population. The incumbent will perform these complex diagnostic exams and discuss the findings with the pediatric cardiologist. Demonstrate the ability to utilize the programs and databases in accordance with departmental standards. Responsibilities You will possess knowledge and skill with Philips and GE ultrasound machines and carry out all routine/urgent echocardiography procedures according to laboratory protocols You will explain the procedure to the patient to give a feeling of comfort and reassurance Maintain patient records, exam data, and procedure observations Review studies and create preliminary reports for the interpreting physicians Requirements Satisfactory completion of a formal ultrasound technology training program Registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Cardiovascular Credentialing International Current adult/pediatric echocardiography registry required, if registry pending, must complete appropriate registration within 12 months from date of employment RDCS with AE (Adult/pediatric echocardiography registry) required BLS Certification required Must have knowledge of complex congenital heart defects and surgical repairs Fetal echocardiography experience is preferred Required certification: RDCS with AE (Adult/pediatric echocardiography registry) BLS Certification PE (Pediatric Echo) and/or FE (Fetal Echo) strongly preferred Why MultiCare?
