Key Responsibilities:
Perform advanced obstetric ultrasound imaging and procedures, including first trimester nuchal translucency, anatomy scans, Dopplers, biophysical profiles, fetal echocardiography, transvaginal ultrasounds, amniocentesis, and chorionic villus sampling (CVS). Operate and calibrate ultrasound equipment, selecting appropriate transducers and technical settings to ensure accurate and high‑quality imaging, utilizing Doppler, color imaging, M‑mode, and real‑time techniques as needed. Review patient medical records, including history, lab results, and physician orders, to gather clinical information prior to procedures, and communicate with patients to obtain necessary history and provide instructions. Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment, notify biomedical staff of any failures, and evaluate new products or technology for potential departmental adoption. Assist in training and supervising students, residents, and medical staff in ultrasound procedures, ensuring adherence to departmental standards and protocols.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent experience. RDMS registration with OB/GYN specialization. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. State licensure or registration, if applicable. Minimum 1 year of sonographer experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Familiarity with obstetric diagnostic ultrasound procedures. Ability to perform advanced obstetric ultrasound imaging techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in electronic medical records and basic computer skills.
Preferred Skills:
Previous travel or contract experience.
