Job Description

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a casual, as needed Ultrasound Tech to work with our Diagnostic Imaging Department. Under the direction of the Ultrasound Supervisor, is responsible for the day-to-day operation of all ultrasound activities at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Ultrasound Technologists ensure the quality of services rendered is acceptable. Confirms orders, documents, medical necessity, and pre-authorization on all ultrasound orders. Provides care to patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic procedures as directed. High School diploma or equivalent required. Junior College/Technical School required, Bachelor's Degree required. American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Certification required
American Registration of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in Radiology and/or Sonography preferred. WV Medical Imagining License preferred. AHA BLA required. One year of position related experience preferred.. The kind of position-related experience includes: Good working knowledge of anatomy, pathology, medical terminology and application software. Ability to skillfully operate US scanner and related patient support equipment is required. Adherence to established procedure protocols.
Working knowledge of all US examinations, exam preps and other information pertinent to placing orders and verifying appropriateness.
