1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Sonographer with at least 2 years of experience in echocardiography, including active scanning within the last 2 years, for an acute care hospital echo unit. Details Works in an acute care hospital echocardiography unit serving both inpatient and outpatient populations Common studies include echocardiography, TEE, and stress echos, with an average of 35-50 studies per day Uses Philips Epics ultrasound equipment and Allscripts/Sunrise EMR Schedule is M-F, either 4x10-hour or 5x8-hour day shifts, with rotating on-call nights, weekends, and holidays Day shift hours are 8:00 AM-4:30 PM or 9:00 AM-5:30 PM; on-call runs 5:30 PM-7:00 AM with 24-hour coverage on weekends and holidays Cardiologist on-call reads and vascular surgeon reads are available after hours 13-week contract Requirements Minimum of 2 years of sonography experience, with at least 1 year of active scanning within the last 2 years Current BLS (AHA) certification required RDCS-AE (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer - Adult Echocardiography) via ARDMS required RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) via CCI accepted in lieu of RDCS Experience with echocardiography, TEE, and stress echo procedures required Proficiency with Philips Epics ultrasound equipment preferred Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Valid driver's license required for consideration License required if applicable Additional Information Performs echocardiograms, TEEs, and stress echos for both inpatient and outpatient populations Orientation consists of a hospital-wide orientation on Monday followed by unit-specific orientation Tuesday through Friday No specific scrub color required; neat, professional appearance expected Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine facility must have taken a 2-year break before being eligible to reapply Travelers may not work within the WVU Medicine system for longer than a cumulative total of one year without taking a 2-year break All candidates interview directly with a unit manager 2 supervisor and/or peer references are required for consideration, including a supervisor reference from any permanent position held in the last 12 months Skills checklist completed within the past year is required for consideration
