The Internship is designed to provide an intensive one-year experience in management of small animal clinical cases under Staff DVM supervision. The training program will utilize Staff doctors of VCA Civano Animal Hospital and approved out rotations.
- Provide clinical care in the role of a veterinarian, i.e. examine patients, order tests, make diagnoses, prescribe treatments, and communicate with clients and referring veterinarians, for patients presented to their assigned Service.
- Participate in the clinical and tutorial instruction of extern students, including daily student rounds; and other duties as assigned
- Participate in Journal club, attend all Hospital Rounds/Seminar sessions and other seminars which are requirements of the Intern's assigned Service.
- Provide clinical care in the role of a veterinarian in the emergency duty schedule (evening, weekend and holiday duty on a rotating schedule) with other members of their assigned Service.
