Small Animal Veterinarian - Advanced Diagnostics Medical Director RadVet Imaging | Tucson, Arizona RadVet Imaging Center is seeking a passionate and collaborative Small Animal Veterinarian to join our growing privately owned practice in beautiful Tucson, Arizona. We are a progressive advanced imaging facility focused on delivering exceptional imaging/diagnostics while building meaningful relationships with our clients, patients, team members, and community. Responsibilities Review imaging requests from referring veterinarians; confirm appropriate study type and protocol. Perform physical assessment as needed and determine patient suitability for imaging and sedation/anesthesia. Obtain informed consent and explain procedure, risks, and patient prep to clients when applicable. Prescribe and administer sedation/anesthesia (per center protocols) and manage analgesia as needed. Supervise patient monitoring and recovery ; respond to anesthetic or procedural complications/emergencies. Perform or supervise imaging procedures as indicated (e.g., ultrasound exams, focused scans, ultrasound-guided sampling if offered). Communicate results and urgent findings directly to referring veterinarians; provide case consultation and recommendations. Ensure imaging quality control (proper positioning, labeling, technique, artifacts; minimize repeats). Oversee contrast administration safety (screening, dosing, reaction management) when applicable. Maintain complete medical records (history, anesthesia record, imaging findings, report, discharge notes). Follow and support safety/compliance standards , including radiation safety (ALARA), controlled drug handling, and infection control. Collaborate with technicians and support staff to maintain efficient workflow and excellent client/referrer service. Participate in continuing education and stay current on imaging standards and best practices. Why Tucson? $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
