The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for emergency medicine and critical care, combined with extensive veterinary experience across various specialties. In this vital role, you will provide immediate, high-quality medical attention to animals in urgent situations, ensuring their safety, comfort, and recovery. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing complex cases and delivering compassionate care in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assess and stabilize critically ill or injured animals promptly upon arrival, utilizing advanced emergency procedures. Perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, including laboratory tests, radiographs, and ultrasounds, to determine appropriate treatment plans. Administer emergency treatments such as fluid therapy, anesthesia, analgesia, and resuscitation techniques with precision and care. Conduct surgical interventions ranging from wound management to life-saving procedures under aseptic conditions. Maintain detailed medical records following clinical ethical guidelines and veterinary terminology standards. Provide animal restraint and handling with confidence to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations and procedures. Educate pet owners on emergency care protocols, post-treatment care, and preventive health measures to promote ongoing animal well-being. Requirements Veterinary degree from an accredited institution with valid licensure to practice veterinary medicine. Proven experience in emergency medicine or critical & intensive care within a veterinary setting. Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary terminology relevant to emergency procedures. Proficiency in general anesthesia administration, animal restraint techniques, and aseptic surgical practices. Familiarity with laboratory diagnostics, laboratory experience preferred for rapid case assessment. Skills in animal catheterization, pet grooming, and handling of diverse species including dogs and equines. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of animal care and clinical ethical guidelines. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and pet owners alike.
