The City of Fresno Animal Center Department is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinarian to join their team. The Veterinarian will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of the animals in the Center's care while embodying the goals, innovation, and animal care compassion that the City Manager envisions for the veterinary program and the community. The ideal candidate should possess thorough knowledge in veterinary, treatment, prevention, control, surgical procedures, and care of a wide range of animals; knowledge of California state, federal, and municipal animal health laws and regulations governing the impounding, releasing and euthanasia of animals; and possess the ability to develop and implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards of staff. In addition, qualified candidates must possess and maintain a valid license to practice veterinary medicine issued by the State of California Veterinary Medical Board. Veterinarians who are licensed in another State may be qualified but must acquire a valid license from the State of California to practice veterinary medicine at time of appointment.Note:
A prospective veterinarian who is licensed in another state may be hired by the City of Fresno while in the process of obtaining their State of California license. The incumbent must acquire their California license within six (6) months of appointment and cannot practice or serve as the City's Veterinarian until such time valid license to practice veterinary medicine issued by the State of California Veterinary Medical Board is granted. Possession and continued maintenance of a valid California Driver's License is required within sixty (60) days of appointment. Must obtain valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license within ninety (90) days of hire and maintain a valid license while employed. May be required to hold the Veterinary Premises License issued by the State of California Veterinary Medical Board. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is between $143,496- 233,340.

May 8, 2026 Position Description Join the PARCS Team at Camp Fresno in Dinkey Creek. Enjoy the outdoors of the Sierra Nevada Mountains while providing a safe, fun, and friendly environment for youth ages 7-17. The City of Fresno operates a family and group camp (Camp Fresno/Camp Fresno Jr.) located on Dinkey Creek, 15 miles east of Shaver Lake and 65 miles from Fresno. Weather is typical of the Sierra Nevada Mountains; summers are normally dry with occasional thundershowers and temperatures in the 80's F. The City of Fresno is seeking dedicated, self-motivated, and passionate people. Positions filled by this recruitment will provide youth programming for Camp Fresno attendees. Positions include camp counselors and cooks. Qualified candidates for youth programming will have experience supporting recreation activities such as arts and crafts, swimming, hiking, fishing, sports, games, and more. Applicants should be comfortable with the outdoors. This is a temporary employment opportunity; it does not include health or retirement benefits. The seasonal employment is between April and September 2024, depending on Camp needs. This temporary assignment in no way guarantees full-time employment. This seasonal position can become year-round. Camp counselors may work up to 40 hours per week. Specific shift times and schedules will be dependent on Camp needs. On-site camp cabin housing (dormitory) is provided for overnight shifts. The Requirements Experience in recreational services and customer service is preferred. Experience working with youth and young adults is preferred but not required. Knowledge of recreational and outdoor activities such as crafts, games, and sports is preferred. THE POSITION
This is your opportunity to become a member of an extraordinary organization and a dynamic team! Under general supervision, the incumbent will perform administrative duties contributing to the efficiency of Airport operations; monitors and inspects the airfield, airport facilities, and personnel to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and airport policies and procedures. In addition, the Airports Operations Officer is responsible for coordinating airport operations to ensure safety and security of the public, tenants and airport staff. An Airports Operations Officer I, after one year of satisfactory experience with the City, and upon recommendation of the supervisor, may be promoted to Airports Operations Officer II with a current monthly salary range of $5,761- 7,003. Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Inspects airfield, terminal, perimeter and grounds for compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and Airport rules and regulations.
- Conducts inspections of airport lighting, taxiways, runways and aprons; and reports hazardous or substantial maintenance construction problems.
- Coordinates airport operations during assigned shift ensuring the safety and security of the public, tenants and airport staff.
- Directs and participates in the inspection of terminal buildings and ground transportation facilities, including concourse, terminal, gate areas, concession areas, interior and exterior of buildings, sidewalks, parking lots and public access roadways to assure the safety, security and efficiency of terminal and ground transportation operations.
- Submits maintenance requests based on observations and results of inspections.
- Monitors the activities of tenants, licensees, and maintenance personnel during assigned shift to ensure compliance with airport standards, policies and regulations.
- I ssues and files Notices To Airmen (NOTAMS) to report all conditions that impact the safe operations of aircraft and ensures prompt communication to the FAA, air carriers and other airport users.
- Maintains a working knowledge of FAR Part 139 and other federal aviation regulations pertaining to airfield markings and lighting; and maintains a working knowledge of additional rules governing the certification and operation of the Airport.
- Works cooperatively with other divisions to ensure compliance with applicable aviation, safety, and security regulations.
- Provides support to Airports Operations Division in overseeing airside and/or landside operations on assigned shift; serves as a resource in resolving difficult problems; and provides input in employee performance evaluations.
- Provides frequent contact with Airport management to exchange information and concerns with respect to policies, procedures, airport activities, operating conditions, tenant relations, and FAA directives.
- May occasionally escort vendors or contractors, depending upon assignment and work location.
- May act as the airport's representative until relieved by higher authority and may be required to make decisions which may have an impact on the operation of the airport, such as opening and closing the runways for evacuation of the airport's facility.
- May serve on committees and attend a variety of meetings; and may be assigned to administrative tasks such as revising airport rules and regulations, emergency plans, certifications manuals, security plans, and training programs.
