The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and welfare, with the ability to diagnose and treat a variety of animal health issues in canine & feline patients. This role requires expertise in veterinary medicine, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to our patients. The use of low-stress handling techniques and calming medications allows our patients to have the best experience while they visit us. We're a completely paperless practice using EzyVet and VetRadar for anesthesia monitoring. We use IDEXX in-house CBC/chemistry/SNAPs, Zoetis Imagyst AI Cytology, IDEXX reference, and digital full body and dental X-ray machines - all dental are performed under anesthesia and include dental X-rays. All anesthetic procedures are monitored by a highly skilled RVT along with Bionet monitoring including CO2 monitoring. We utilize mobile board-certified specialists - cardiology, surgery, and internal medicine. However with multiple 24-hour specialty & emergency hospitals close by, the cases that need to be at the specialty hospital are referred there directly in the best interest of the patient. Responsibilities Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health, diagnose any conditions, and provide appropriate treatment plans. Perform surgical procedures - soft tissue (spay, neuter, mass removals) and dentals with extractions. Provide emergency care and treatment for injured or ill animals. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of treatments administered. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure optimal patient care. Stay informed about advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities - $2000 CE stipend. Requirements A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution is required with a license to practice in California.
