Job Description

A rare Orange County role combining advanced companion animal medicine with a diverse exotic caseload.
Job Description:
Work with a genuinely varied caseload across companion animals and exotics in a long-established Southern California hospital known for strong clinical standards and experienced mentorship. A multi-doctor mixed animal hospital in Orange County is hiring an Associate Veterinarian to join its established team. This is a rare opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys both companion animal medicine and exotic cases, with the support of an experienced clinical team and a hospital built for advanced diagnostics and surgery. The hospital has built a strong reputation locally for its work with birds, reptiles, and small mammals alongside a high-volume dog and cat caseload. The team includes experienced veterinarians with recognised expertise in exotic animal medicine and surgery, creating an environment where collaboration and case discussion are part of the day-to-day. The caseload is varied, medically interesting, and supported by long-standing clients who are engaged in patient care. The hospital itself is fully equipped with in-house laboratory facilities, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, electrosurgery, and surgical magnification equipment. Standards of medicine are high, but the culture remains practical and team-oriented. Veterinarians are trusted with autonomy while still having access to mentorship and clinical support when needed. Support staff are experienced, well utilised, and contribute heavily to workflow and patient care. The leadership team is approachable and focused on maintaining a stable, respectful working environment with sustainable scheduling and continued professional growth. New graduates are welcomed if they are motivated to learn and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital setting. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, values collaborative medicine, and wants exposure to cases that are difficult to find in a traditional small animal setting.
