Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Relief Veterinarian to join our dynamic veterinary team on a temporary basis. In this role, you will provide high-quality medical care across a variety of cases, ensuring the well-being of animals while supporting our full-time veterinary staff. Your expertise will help maintain our commitment to exceptional animal care, foster positive client relationships, and uphold the standards of veterinary excellence. Duties Deliver comprehensive veterinary services, including examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures as needed. Utilize veterinary terminology accurately to communicate findings and treatment plans effectively with team members and clients. Interpret test results and implement appropriate treatment protocols based on laboratory data. Apply aseptic techniques during surgeries and procedures to prevent infections and ensure optimal outcomes. Manage animal catheterization, intravenous access, and other critical care procedures with precision and care. Support pet owners with advice on pet care, behavior, and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing health. Maintain detailed medical records following veterinary standards for documentation and compliance. Collaborate with team members on complex cases involving animal physiology, anatomy, or critical care needs on small animal general practice and urgencies. Qualifications Valid veterinary license in good standing; previous veterinary experience necessary. Demonstrated veterinary critical care experience is necessary. Strong animal handling skills across different species including dogs and cats. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform animal catheterization and manage urgent situations effectively. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members clearly and professionally. Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of animal welfare and safety. $1,000.00 - $1,200.00 per day
